What is CBT?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a well-established psychological approach that focuses on how your thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected. It helps you identify unhelpful thinking patterns and gradually replace them with more balanced and realistic ones. By becoming aware of these patterns and working through them step by step, CBT makes it easier to respond to situations with greater clarity, calm, and control.

CBT journaling is a commonly used technique within Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. It provides a structured way to record your thoughts, emotions, and situations, helping you identify patterns and gradually reshape unhelpful thinking into more balanced perspectives.

Decades of psychological research have shown CBT to be effective in improving thinking patterns and emotional regulation. Large reviews of studies show that CBT has a very strong evidence base across many psychological problems.

CBT is not a trend, it’s one of the most researched and widely accepted methods in psychology.
